I’ve seen a lot of Instagram accounts for people who have been travelling with just a backpack. Backpacking is actually a good way of travelling in budget. There are a lot of flights that offer great discounts provided you travel without checked-in baggage. Just a backpack. At the same time, backpacking offers you a way to travel easily and more flexible since you’re not carrying a lot of stuff, and, more mobility.

In my case, I find it hard actually. I can’t imagine myself travelling with just a backpack with me. I got nothing against backpackers. I actually admire them and I’ve been toying at the idea of travelling with just one baggage for awhile now.

I admire the people who travel like this because: 1. They know how to properly pack their stuff to fit in that one “gigantic” bag;  2. They can carry that huge backpack; 3. It looks so heavy  x_x. I can carry heavy stuff but not for a long time. I can’t imagine the back pain I’ll have after awhile; and 4. They definitely know the important things that they need for their travel-wherever they go : snowy or sunny.

Most of the time, I bring with me things I actually never get to use during the whole time I’m travelling. I guess I just brought them because I might need them and I’m not really sure if I’ll ever need them. I know that after several trips, I should know already by this time. And I should be able to prioritize the things that I’ll actually get to use or I’ll need during the trip.

Iceland Roadtrip

This backpack only include camera, filters, Lenses, some accessories. Look at that tripod! It’s the heaviest tripod I’ve ever known!

Travelling with a budding photographer, we have to carry a lot of gadgets – a drone, camera and couple of lenses, tripod/s, a couple of extra outfit and maybe some props (for photos of course!), other gadgets like action camera, some accessories such as filters; apart from our 1-2 suitcases each (that means 2-4 suitcases for us both). And, we always maximize the allowed luggage per person. Our hands (body) are always full whenever we travel anywhere. We both carry a backpack, a large suitcase and a small suitcase, plus my hand/shoulder bag. Phew! I can already feel all of it while writing this article! I shall update this post on our next travel. I’ll keep in mind to take a photo of all our stuff! Haha!

while I carry this teeny-weeny bag which include my mobile phone, an action camera, small tripod, water bottle, tissue and wifi hotspot!

This photo (above/left)) was taken during our trip in Iceland. We hired a campervan then so all of our stuff were in the campervan. We (he) carries that backpack everytime we go to shoot – which is practically everyday for like 6-8 hours. If we’re not shooting, we’re driving around the country towards the next location.

How about you? How do you travel?
