I have finally got the chance to join a Photography class! This marks the start of a new hobby: Photography.

Last Saturday, I attended a short course, more like an introduction to photography. It’s called Sony Alpha Photography Workshop | Discover Session. The class was hosted by Gulf Photo Plus. It’s a free class offered to those who have purchase a Sony Camera – DSLR or Mirrorless.

I got my camera as a gift for my birthday. I guess it’s high time for me to up my “skills” in Photography. I’m used to using my mobile phone to capture photos during my trips. And I can say that my photos are getting better and better as time pass. I get tips from my travel partner most of the time on how to capture good photos, composition, editing, etc.

Since I received my camera, I have been trying the different modes and reading stuff from the internet on how to use it, its capabilities and how to maximize available resources while taking nice photos. My readings took me to a page from a company called Gulf Photo Plus. They are based in Dubai and they have been offering cool workshops. Besides, I’ve already heard of them before from my BF. So, I checked out their page, and came across one of their free workshops offered to Sony camera owners. It’s more like an intro to Sony camera so I decided to register myself!

The class was for 4 hours. The module was really good especially for a newbie like me who has no clue or whatsoever about my camera and how to correctly use it and all of its (BASIC) features/functions! We focused more on learning how to use the Program and Aperture modes of the camera. Which I think were very important because, well, not all of us can purchase expensive lenses, hence we just want to maximize whatever we have available (kit lens). We also get to practice shooting outside of the classroom to apply what we have learned on the discussion.

Overall, it was a really good short course. And, that’s why I registered on another class! It will be another Sony Alpha Photography Workshop, but this time it’s more on the application with a bit of coaching. It’s going to happen this weekend, so, let’s see!

till then! 🙂
