Hey everyone! So I have updated this post. 🙂 Somehow, I have done some updates and improvements on this site since I first started it 4 days ago!

Iceland. Ohhhhh Iceland!

Truly one of the most magical, out-of-this-world, magnificent country I’ve ever seen! Every corner I look, I see beauty. Here I truly get to appreciate nature in its entire splendor.

We spent about 10 days in Iceland. Together with my travel partner, my boyfriend, we planned to travel around the country, to primarily take beautiful photos, get a first-hand experience of the so-called fickle-minded Icelandic weather, escape the heat of the UAE, and actually visit and see all those beautiful places that we only get to see on photos, Instagram, Facebook and movies. Yes, those Game of Thrones locations!

We carefully planned our trip by reading a lot about Iceland, where to go, places to visit that we can actually visit, How to get there, etc. To allow ourselves flexibility, we opted to hire a campervan. The last eight days were spent travelling, eating, sleeping, and cooking in a campervan.

Oh, it was fun! Hard, but fun.

Thank God! Our campervan provided us with all the comfort and flexibility we needed! Our campervan was equipped with good heating system, a double-sized foldable bed, and some cooking stuff. No, we didn’t have shower room. We had to shower at the camp sites or swimming pool areas. We camped at the camp sites at night. Most campsites we went to had full amenities – shower area, cooking area etc. These are what’s important to us. In some days, we reach the campsite really late and leave really early. Hence, we skip shower (ooops!). If I can remember right, we get to shower every 2 days! hahaha I know, I know…

Breakfast with this view??? yes, please!

We spent a looooooot of time searching for the right campervan for us. We always travel with a lot of gears :  drone, camera equipments (tripod, lenses, filters, etc). Each one of us had to carry at least 2 carry-ons apart from our huge suitcases. So, for 2 persons travelling, we needed a campervan where we can comfortably sleep, change clothes, keep all our stuff, cook and eat. At the same time, we want a campervan that looks cool from the outside, and of course, automatic transmission! Most campervans we found, the good ones, were available only on Manual Transmission.

Until finally, we found this website for a company called Cozy Campers. We were impressed of how their campervans look. We checked on the reviews, we didn’t find much but the reviews we found were impressive. So, we booked! They have recently made some upgrades and additional vans on their fleet. Check them out here.

Ok, so on the last day, finally, we booked a hotel in Reykjavik. Ahhhhhhh that long awaited fresh, proper shower! You can’t imagine the feeling!

Anyway, the whole trip was filled with adventure, amazing photographs, and somehow, I can say that I’ve reached my cardio limit for the month after all those walking and hiking! I’ve posted some of my photos here. So, feel free to check ’em out!

On my next blog, I’ll be sharing with you some tips, based on my own personal experience, when it comes to visiting and road tripping Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice, which should be up real soon!

So, stay tuned!

Cheers,

chris
